The Fairfield Public Library, our community’s gateway to the world of information and discovery, inspires the lifelong love of reading and learning. It offers free access to varied collections, stimulating programs, leading-edge technology, and a responsive staff in a welcoming environment.
Fairfield has two public libraries: The Main Library in downtown Fairfield and the Branch Library on Fairfield Woods Road. Both have rich collections of books and resources and a vast selection of e-books and audiobooks. The Fairfield Public Libraries have extensive series of events from career consulting, job search boot camps, author workshops, local political debates, seminars on current topics, and much more. And, of course, many rich programs for children. The library website also has lots of helpful information and resources about town events, town clubs and organizations, and other community links.
Please visit the Fairfield Public Library website for more information on children's programs, events, digital resources, and all other library programs and resources.
Fairfield also supports the Pequot Library.
Pequot Library is a non-profit library, free and open to the public, thanks to support from the Town of Fairfield, business and corporate sponsors, grant-funding, special event fundraisers, and individual donors. Pequot offers robust programming, including lectures and musical and theatrical performances, exhibitions, and a wide selection of books, ebooks, and audiobooks, in addition to its Special Collections consisting of rare books and archives. All Fairfield residents are welcome to visit the library’s exhibitions, check out books, and attend our public programs. Learn more about Pequot Library.
