More than 80 people attended the first of several planned workshops to discuss transit-oriented development surrounding the Town’s two full-service train stations. The meeting marked the official kick-off of a planning study to examine transit-oriented development opportunities in proximity to the Fairfield Center and Fairfield Metro train stations. Town staff and consultants from Goody Clancy provided a brief overview of the work plan and study objectives. The presentation was followed by small group discussions around community goals, opportunities and challenges.
Goody Clancy will utilize the next few months to conduct a detailed market analysis to assess market demand for transit supported uses surrounding the two stations for office, retail and residential uses. The study is being funded by a planning grant from the CT Department of Community & Economic Development (DECD).
