1/31/2021 - REMINDER- The deadline for Jan. 1st tax bills extended to April 1st - excludes escrow accounts and commercial landlords

Town hall is closed on Monday February 1st due to inclement weather, but the Tax Collector's office is reminding residents that the current January 1st tax installment has been deferred and extended per Governor's executive order.  This excludes escrow accounts and commercial landlords.  Commercial landlords must pay by February 1, 2021 still and can do so by regular mail with a U.S. postmark of February 1st or by paying online on February 1st at www.fairfieldct.org/taxpayment.  Commercial landlord applications will still be accepted as long as received by February 1, 2021 by email to taxoffice@fairfieldct.org or by regular mail with a postmark of February 1, 2021.

  • January 1, 2021 installment grace period is extended from February 1, 2021 to April 1, 2021
  • Includes the Jan. 1st real estate, supplemental and regular motor vehicle and personal property taxes
  • Important Executive Order 9R Facts:

    • Real estate accounts in escrow are not eligible for this program
    • Commercial landlords must fill out an application by Feb 1st.  Commercial Landlord Application 
    • Prior Oct 1st real estate and sewer installments are not eligible per Governor's executive order.
