This is First Selectman Mike Tetreau with a message from Fairfield’s Emergency Management team.
Significant Power restoration progress was made during the day today. UI has reduced the number of outages to 304 as of 5:00 PM today. While UI is not telling us the exact number of crews, UI Crews will continue to work throughout the night.
United Illuminating estimates full restoration by 4 PM on Sunday, however this does not include homes that require an electrician to fix the connection to a home before UI can finish their work and restore power. They are still working to clear less then12 wires down to make our town safe and to allow us to open schools on Monday.
Any trees or branches that have been cut by DPW or Utility companies, and left on the side of the road, DPW will be removing in the near future.
Showers are available at our Parks & Rec facility on Mill Plain Road, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM on Sunday.
Please check for details on town web site www.fairfieldct.org/storm. Please notify UI of power outage or downed wires at 800-722-5584. Please call 911 for any life threatening emergencies for all other issues, please call 203-254-4800.
Please stay safe and stay warm.
