The Town of Fairfield DPW and our contractors are upgrading the Kiwanis facility.
It started with the bad winter destroying the Kiwanis parking lot, so we rebuilt that lot reclaiming the existing sub base, adding road millings, then 2 courses of armor coating, a 1/2" base followed by a 3/8" top. A very economical rebuild that was built to last. The line painting is scheduled for September.
Now onto the field, this field boasts home games for our Ludlowe high school and yet it was challenged by holding water and larger maintenance costs, so we have switched to a pro quality clay surface which will drain water which we believe will continue to support a high level of play but reduce the cost of daily maintenance. As part of this upgrade, we installed all new sod in the infield as well as new stone dust around the entire warning track.
