The Town of Fairfield has selected William Norton to be the Town’s Superintendent of Wastewater. This very important division of the Town Public Works Department maintains our sanitary sewer collection system, and operates the wastewater treatment plant on Richard White Way. There are numerous challenges and several ambitious projects on the horizon.
Mr. Norton comes to Fairfield after a lengthy career with the City of West Haven. He earlier worked several years with the Town of Greenwich. Bill received a Bachelors In Environmental Science from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a Masters in Environmental Science from the University of New Haven. He hold a Class IV Operator's license from the CT DEEP, the highest certification level. Mr. Norton is well respected in his field, he is a active in several professional organizations, and has served on various State Boards. He will begin working for the Town of Fairfield beginning July 6, 2015.
Bill succeeds Michael Finoia, who spent 18 successful years in the position. Mike left Fairfield earlier this year for a similar position in another community. We welcome Mr. Norton to Fairfield, and wish Mr. Finoia well in his new endeavor.
