9/13/2017 - Town of Fairfield Public Works continues to rack up awards

The Town of Fairfield will be honored by the Connecticut Association of Street and Highway Officials with the 2017 Distinguished Service Award, the most prestigious award the group bestows. DPW will receive the award at CASHO’s Annual Banquet this November, in Southington.

Each year the Award honors a Connecticut municipality for outstanding service to its residents; a recognition program that celebrates progress, exceptional performance and standardization of the best practices in pavement maintenance. Superintendent Scott Bartlett extended his congratulations to Fairfield’s entire Public Works Department, saying, “I’m very proud of all of the members of our Fairfield DPW, who consistently demonstrate responsiveness to citizens’ needs, cost effectiveness, and innovative use of staff and funds.”

Other accolades for the Fairfield Department of Public Works include a National Award for Excellence in Pavement Preservation from the International Slurry Surfacing Association, two AAA Northeast Traffic Safety Heroes of the Year Awards, and 2nd Prize in the 2016 Snow Plow Safety Roadeo.
