“If not now, when?” – Hillel the Elder
On behalf of Fairfield Social Services and Fairfield CARES thank you to all took the time to attend Fairfield Faces Racism on June 24th. Dr. Gottlieb gave us a great foundation from which we can continue to grow and learn about how we, as individuals and together as a community, will be able to make Fairfield more inclusive and accepting for all residents.

There is no better time than the present day to understand racism and its toxic effects on all of us, regardless of our skin color. But we cannot confront what we don't know how to discuss, or educate with information we don’t have. This honest, informative training will get participants started on the path to productively addressing issues of race, racism, and skin color privilege.
We will discuss the socially-constructed meanings of skin color and race, and the resulting impact of racism in the United States. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about practical solutions that empower us to debunk and dismantle structural and individual racism and be provided with resources.
