Dog Licensing
Dogs six months of age or older must be licensed before July 1st each year. Licensing begins June 1st. Dog licenses may be obtained through the mail or in person at the Town Clerk's Office in Old Town Hall.

Licensing Fees
Licensing fees are $8 for a spayed or neutered dog, $19 for an unaltered dog. A $1.00 per month penalty is added to the licensing fee for dogs licensed after June 30th. Proof of spaying or neutering must be provided the first time a dog is licensed to qualify for the lower fee.
The following documentation is required:
- Copy of a current rabies certificate
- Copy of spaying or neutering certificate (if first time dog is being licensed)
- Check or Cash - $8 - spayed/neutered dogs; $19 - unaltered dogs
License by Mail
To apply for a dog license by mail, mail the following items to Betsy P. Browne, Town Clerk, 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824:
- Copy of a current rabies certificate
- Copy of spaying or neutering certificate (if first time dog is being licensed)
- Check payable to Fairfield Town Clerk for $8 - spayed/neutered dogs; $19 - unaltered dogs; add $1 penalty per month after June 30th
- Stamped, self-addressed envelope
Dog License Application
A Dog License Application is available for those who feel more comfortable submitting an actual application form. A completed application is not required to obtain a license.
