Community Sailing of Fairfield

Community Sailing of Fairfield, operated by its members under the auspices of Fairfield Parks and Recreation, is based at Ye Yacht Yard in picturesque Southport Harbor. The organization makes available to its members 2 fixed keel, family-size Ideal 18’ daysailers, 4 two-person kayaks, and 2 one-person kayaks. The annual fees for a household are: $395 (full week), $250 (weekday only), $250 kayak only (full week), with a 10% discount for seniors. This entitles any family member 18 years and older, who has passed our skills testing, to reserve unlimited 2-hour sailing or kayaking from May through October. Skippers must have or obtain a “Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate” and demonstrate basic sailing and water safety skills.
A certified sailing instructor is available to provide paid private lessons to achieve the required skills. The organization offers weekly racing opportunities hosted by the Pequot Yacht Club and the chance to race our boats in area regattas.

Our FREE preseason April and May seminars (online by Zoom) are posted in the flyer below. For further information, contact Community Sailing at or visit our website at
