This course is meant to provide a foundation of aquatic knowledge and leadership skills and attitudes for future successful completion of the Red Cross Lifeguarding course. This is not a certification course for lifeguarding but students will have the opportunity to test and be certified for First Aid/CPR. Students receive a certificate of completion.  Lessons and activities are derived from the American Red Cross Guardstart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow Program. The program will be taught by our Waterfront Directors and qualified instructors.

The course meets primarily at Jennings Beach, but the program will have a meeting schedule TBD so students can experience swimming at several Town beaches. Parents must provide transportation to different meeting locations.  Students will meet at Jennings Beach at the lifeguard shack under the pavilion.  Please bring bathing suit, towel, change of clothes, water/beverage, and sunscreen.
