The Human and Social Services Department and Bigelow Center for Senior Activities are closed to the public. All activities and individual, in person appointments are cancelled. We have limited staff onsite to answer calls and assist residents with their needs during this unprecedented time. Please call if you should need assistance. if you get voicemail, leave a message. As our community deals with the effects of the Coronavirus, we are all coping with increased stress, fear and anxiety. While Social Services is not taking in person appointments, we continue to work with energy assistance clients to ensure benefits are approved and oil deliveries are made. If you or anyone you know is struggling to purchase food or not able to get to the store, please contact Social Services at (203) 256-3170. All calls are confidential. As always, the Operation Hope Food Pantry located at 636 Old Post Road in Fairfield, across from Town Hall. The hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 – 12:00 PM and Thursdays from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.

Fairfield COVID-19 Relief Fund:
The Fairfield COVID-19 Relief Fund was established to help support the residents of Fairfield as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Intended use of the funds must be directly related to the effects of the virus.
Funds are limited. It is anticipated that requests for assistance may be greater than the funds received. The ability to provide assistance will be based on the amount of money raised for this purpose, the validity of each request, and demonstrated need. Assistance will be granted on a first come, first serve basis.
