Under the Vocational Rehabilitative Program, The Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) provides vocational rehabilitation (VR) services to assist Connecticut residents with significant disabilities to find and keep employment. The Independent Living Program is a statewide funding program designed to modify housing for people with physical disabilities.)

  • Community First Choice Program:211

    (Community First Choice (CFC) is a new program in Connecticut offered to active Medicaid members as part of the Affordable Care Act. This program allows individuals to receive supports and services in their home. These services can include—but are not limited to—help preparing meals and doing household chores, and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, transferring, etc.). Educational services will be available to help you increase your independence, and learn how to manage your in-home staff.)

    (The service area (the area that the Access buses serve) includes the area ¾ of a mile around all GBT city bus routes. This generally includes all of Bridgeport and portions of Fairfield, Stratford, and Trumbull. There is also limited service to parts of Milford, Monroe, Shelton, Derby, Westport and Norwalk. The service area is planned this way to ensure that riders with disabilities have access to the same geographic areas as riders on the city buses and is an ADA requirement.
