Landlord Assistance Programs

Residential Rehab Program Rental Property Owners

Fairfield’s Neighborhood Revitalization Program helps preserve and enhance the town’s affordable housing stock. To increase the supply and improve the condition of affordable rental property in town, the town may provide financial assistance to eligible property owners to provide improvements and repairs to rental properties in exchange for a commitment to keep the rental units affordable. This program is only available to those who are seeking to convert non-residential properties to affordable rental housing or to those needing to rehab existing rental units. Funds need not be repaid, provided that rents meet affordability guidelines and that tenants meet HUD Income Guidelines listed below. To be eligible, owners must be current on property taxes, possess homeowners and flood insurance as required and have appropriate certificates of occupancy.
