2/12/2016 - Funding available for Handyman fix it jobs
The Office of Community and Economic Development is pleased to announce that funds are available to pay for up to eight (8) hours of labor to help residents with minor home repairs such as light carpentry, gutter maintenance, minor electrical repair and other related work. The homeowner is responsible for the cost of any materials necessary to perform the work.

Applicants must be income eligible and Town of Fairfield residents to participate in this program. Certain other restrictions do apply.

Examples of eligible work activities include:

Minor Plumbing – repair leaky faucets, replace fixtures, grouting or sealing tile areas, unclogging drains, etc.

Minor Electrical – repairing or installing switches, installing GFI outlets, replacing or repairing fixtures.

Light Carpentry – repairing or installing wood railings, wood steps, grab bars and flooring, repairing rot, insect and water damage, etc.

Gutter Maintenance – cleaning and realignment.

Masonry Repairs – walkways, porches, loose bricks, etc.

Minor Roof Repairs – patching or sealing around flashing valleys, eaves, chimneys and vents, tracking loose shingles, etc.
