Do you know what to do in a major disaster such as a flood, winter storm or hurricane? Do you know someone who has been injured in a major disaster? Did you ever want to help? If so, Fairfield's Community Emergency Response Team's (CERT) training may be for you.
CERT is currently recruiting for the new basic CERT training which starts on March 5, 2016 and runs for 5 Saturdays.
The CT Division of Emergency Management, Homeland Security and FEMA have established the basic curriculum we will follow. You will train to VOLUNTEER for the FAIRFIELD COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM – CERT.
Training will include:
- disaster preparedness
- disaster medical operations
- light search and rescue
- disaster psychology
- fire safety
