7/11/2014 - Public Comments being Accepted on CDBG Annual Action Plan

The Office of Community & Economic Development is accepting public comments through close of business on August 11, 2014, on its draft Program Year 40 Annual Action Plan.  The Annual Action Plan identifies those projects and activities that the Town proposes to fund using federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the upcoming program year which begins on October 1, 2014.  The Town receives funding annually from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development through the CDBG Program.  The primary purpose of the CDBG program is to create viable communities through the provision of decent affordable housing, a suitable living environment and expanded economic opportunities, primarily aimed at persons and/or areas of low/moderate income.  The Town expects to receive $456,698 in CDBG funds for the upcoming program year.  Persons wishing to comment on the draft Plan may do so in writing to the Office of Community & Economic Development, 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 or via e-mail at
