BUSINESS GUIDANCE
The Town of Fairfield shares your determination to reopen your establishments and return your employees to work. To support these goals, the Town of Fairfield has established a Business Reopening Task Force. The Task Force is designed to assist businesses with their reopening and guide them in the safety protocols provided by the Health Department. Members of the team include the First Selectwoman and representatives of the Heath, Fire, Police, Zoning, Building and Economic Development Departments. We have prepared this website to assist with reopening your business. We stand ready to work with your team to implement safety protocols to support the resumption of business operations.
The State has issued guidelines for the re-opening of retail shops and malls. State guidelines by industry sector for the re-opening can be found here.
Businesses should carefully review these guidelines but the key elements are:
- limiting occupancy
- having hand sanitizer available
- wearing face coverings
- installing partitions where possible
- installing signage and other visual cues for social distancing
The Health Department has prepared sample signage for business use, which is available for download.
