Enrolled Democrats and Republicans will be able to participate in the Presidential Preference Primary on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016.
Polls will be open from 6am to 8pm at regular polling places.
If you will not be able to attend in person, you may contact the Town Clerk to obtain an absentee ballot. In addition to regular weekday hours, the Town Clerk's office will be open on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9am to 12 noon for absentee voting.
Voters may inquire about their party status using the CT Voter Lookup Tool, and may change their party affiliation at the CT Online Voter Registration site. Voters without a DMV ID may use the online system to prepare and print an application, though it must be returned to our office by mail or in person.
Please note the following deadlines (available in detailed form here):
- Tuesday, January 26th: Last day to change party affiliation for any voter currently enrolled in a party. (ie, Democrats wishing to become Republicans, Republicans wishing to become Democrats, etc.)
- Thursday, April 21st: Last day for online and mail-in applications to register to vote or to enroll in a party. Mailed and online party change applications must be received by this date; new voters must be postmarked by this date.
- Monday, April 25th: Last day for in-person voter registration and party enrollment at our office (ending at 12 noon.)
