8/1/2017 - Healthy for Life Project Names Fairfield's b.Good as Eat Well's Healthy Restaurant of the Month

 

 The Healthy for Life Project is proud to announce Fairfield’s own b.Good restaurant, located at 1460 Post Road, Fairfield as Eat Well’s healthy restaurant for the month of August. To celebrate, our team talked with Molli from b.Good and asked about the restaurant and its healthy options.

Q: What year did your restaurant open and what type of food does your establishment serve?

A: We opened in September, 2015. We are an innovative, healthy, fast-casual restaurant concept serving “food with roots” that is sustainably sourced and hand-prepared fresh in-house. We sell everything from Greens & Grains Bowls, Salads, All-Natural Burgers, Sides of Veggies and Oven-Finished Fries, Smoothies and Kids’ Meals with sides of broccoli and apple sauce.

Q: What is your favorite ingredient to work with?

A: Kale, because it is surprisingly tasty and can be prepared in sweet or savory items. Our Kale Crush Smoothie with Kale, apples, banana and pineapple is our signature drink that is even popular on our Kid’s menu. Marinated Kale is also the staple of many of our Greens and Grains bowls, such as our award-winning Spicy Avocado and Lime bowl.

Q: What do you look forward to the most when you come to work at your restaurant?  

A: We have a great staff and amazing customers, a handful of whom have become “regulars” and friends.  Many of our guests choose b.Good because they have touching stories of health and recovery. We always look forward to greeting our friends and welcoming new guests!

Q: What is your favorite way to keep yourself healthy? 

A: Along with clean eating of course, exercise and proper sleep are key. A lot of our customers fuel up at b.Good before or after the gym, it is nice to be a consistent part of their healthy lifestyle.

Q: Tell us something unique or special about your restaurant that not many people know.  

A: Since we opened we have donated almost $2,000 to our Community Partner, Food Rescue US, and funded the rescue over 30,000 meals for those in need.  To raise awareness and support for childhood summer hunger, we are offering free kids meals (one with purchase of adult entrée) this month until Labor Day. When school is out, many families are burdened to provide 2 additional meals per day that their children receive for free in school during the year. Food Rescue US is dedicated to rescuing reusable, healthy grocery and restaurant waste to feed the hungry. We give our customers a chance to participate in all our donations, either through a unique “donate" option on rewards gifts we send out on our mobile app, or through give-back days where we donate a percentage of purchase to the non-profit.
