Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency - Inland Wetlands Regulated Areas Map
The "Designated Inland Wetlands & Watercourses of the Town of Fairfield" are depicted on the official map filed with the Fairfield Town Clerk in the form of 180 Mylar sheets at a horizontal scale of 100 feet per inch with 2-foot contour intervals. The official inland wetlands map adopted September 1, 1994, and periodically revised through the map amendment procedures, is a composite of property boundaries from the Assessor’s map, topographic and planimetric features on a 1968 base map, and then overlaid with the medium and high intensity soil mapping data from surveys by soil scientists. While all inland wetlands and watercourses found in Fairfield are regulated by the Wetland Agency, restrictions due to graphic scale prevent depicting all regulated areas on the map.
The Wetland Agency has provided this website with a digital rendering of the inland wetland regulated areas for the convenience of the viewing public trying to obtain a general understanding of the wetland resources in Fairfield.
