12/19/2017 - Fairfield Holiday Shop & Stroll Prize Winners Announced-Community Asked to Fill Out Post Event Survey

First Selectman Mike Tetreau announced today the prize winners from those who participated in the special promotion in connection with this year’s Town/Chamber Holiday Shop & Stroll which was held on Thursday, December 7, 2017.

At a drawing held this past week, Diane Manderville of Fairfield won the top prize of a downtown shopping spree valued at $500. Other prize winners included Fairfielders Kim and Steve Fetko who won $100 in “ShowBucks” to the Fairfield Theatre Company (FTC) and Melissa Hill of Fairfield who won a holiday display valued at $85. A complete list of all winners can be found at https://www.facebook.com/experiencefairfield/.

The Town’s Community and Economic Development Department, which has spearheaded this event and similar retail-based initiatives, is asking community members to fill out a post event survey by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/17Stroll.

First Selectman Tetreau said, “I want to thank everyone who helped make our fifth annual Fairfield Holiday Shop & Stroll such a rousing success. The Holiday Stroll has quickly become something of a tradition…something to look forward to each year…and each year, it seems to get better and better.”

Community and Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart said, “We were blessed with great weather, and a nice crowd. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits and having a good time. I especially want to thank the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and our sponsors, Kleban Properties, Fischel Properties, Charles Schwab and Henry C. Reid & Son Jewelers, as well as the merchants who participated and donated prizes. We want to continue to grow this event, and make it even better, and so we’d love to hear from the public through the online survey.”

Fairfield Chamber of Commerce President Beverly Balaz extended her thanks to all of the participating merchants and holiday shoppers, stating “It was nice to see so many people downtown enjoying all that Fairfield has to offer. I would like to thank our carolers and musicians from Fairfield Warde, Fairfield Ludlow and Fairfield Prep, for helping lift our holiday spirits, as well as Scott Hartley and Greg Roberts from Nauti Dolphin for providing pizza to our student musicians.”
