The Town of Fairfield’s Department of Community & Economic Development, in honor of National Small Business Week, will conduct a free workshop on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, to provide information on financing opportunities and other resources available to small business owners. Business owners can expect to learn more about Connecticut’s popular Small Business Express Program, financing available through both conventional and community-based lenders including government-guaranteed loan products, as well as other resources to help businesses access capital. Presenters will also share insights into what funders look for in a successful application. The panel will include representatives from the Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD), People’s United Bank, Capital for Change, and the Connecticut Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The workshop will be held in the Memorial Room of the Fairfield Public Library, located at 1080 Post Road in Fairfield. The program is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. The presentation is expected to last about an hour with time afterward for questions of the panelists and informal networking for attendees. The program is free of charge, but advanced registration is required as space is limited. To register, please go to https://financeyoursmallbusiness.eventbrite.com.
